  Snow on the ground changes what students have access to on the playground.  Students are allowed to play in the snow if they have: snow pants  and snow boots.  If they do not have both, they are required to stay on the blacktop to ensure they stay dry. Please consider donating snow pants and boots your child has outgrown to the school so that students can borrow them to play in the snow.  Our school nurse, Ms. Joni Sexauer, is willing to house extra snow pants and boots that students may borrow if they forget or don’t have them at home.  If...
The Gill Montague SEPAC - Special Education Parent Advisory Council has accepted an invitation to attend a meeting held at the YMCA Social room on Thursday, December 6, from 6:00-8:00 pm.  Leslie M.Leslie of the MASS-PAC group will be leading a presentation on starting and running successful special education parent/guardian advisory councils.  This event is sponsored by the Greenfield SEPAC and is open to all parents and guardians in the Franklin County area who have children with disabilities or special education needs. School committee member April Reipold resigned her position effective November 27, 2018. April has been a thoughtful and conscientious member since 2014 and she will be missed. The school committee has begun the process of seeking a replacement to fill this vacancy until the next round of elections in May, 2019. This seat will then be open to all Montague resident candidates to fill the remaining one year of what was originally a three-year term (2017-2020).  Ms. Reipold held one of the 6 Montague resident seats on the 9 member committee. Rise Up is a Self-Actualization class designed and led by Faith Kaemmerlen that uses team building and community service opportunities to build communication and leadership skills. Students in this year's class describe it as " a chance to learn a lot about yourself and some skills to help you and the community." Each year the students in Rise Up plan, organize, run and clean up after the Dodge Ball Tournament; challenging themselves to expand their comfort zones and plan a fun, inexpensive, community event.
