I am often asked how snow day decisions get made by school districts. Here is some information on that topic. Superintendents first collect weather forecast information. I gather info from the National Weather Service, Weather Underground, Dave Hayes the Weather Nut, and, at times, other sources. In 2014, Community Health Center of Franklin County started a mobile dental hygiene program designed to provide care to children in various schools throughout our region. They currently serve 19 schools, which include Sheffield, Gill, and Hillcrest.  They perform screenings, provide sealants, cleanings, xrays, fluoride applications, and recommendations for follow up.  Here at Sheffield we are very excited to offer these services two times a year: fall and spring.  Please consider enrolling your student in this valuable and timesaving program! For more...
We conducted a bus evacuation drill with all grades this morning. Daylight savings time is this weekend, remember to turn clocks back one hour Saturday night. ( This is also a perfect time to change the batteries in all your smoke detectors.) Mobile dentist was here today to begin seeing students whose families signed them up. If they were not seen today, mobile dentist will return to complete dental services on November 6. November 8 and 9 are both half days with a noon dismissal . We have parent/teacher conferences both of these days , and a book fair in our library....
