On November 20, teachers Jennifer Luciano, Jessica Vachula-Curtis and 32 of their students took part in Monte's March Against Hunger.  Their combined teams raised over $2,700 for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts!  Thanks to all of those who donated.  The team marched 8 miles from the center of Amherst to the center of Sunderland through very wet and cold conditions - it was a great community-building day.  Congratulations go out to our civic-minded students for their participation and to our community service driven teachers...

  Dear Hillcrest Families, From time to time, I will use our Friday News to highlight key sections of the Hillcrest Family Handbook.  And, with the impending stormy weather, it seems like the perfect time to highlight our district procedures regarding school delays and cancellations due to stormy weather.   From the 2018-2019 Hillcrest Family Handbook: Early dismissals due to stormy weather:  If it becomes necessary to close school before 3:15 p.m., a pre-recorded telephone message is sent out to all families in the district through the All-Call system....
Thank you to all the families who attended last week’s parent/teacher conferences.  We appreciate your participation in your child’s educational journey. There is an All School Meeting tomorrow, November 16 starting at 2:15 pm in our auditorium.
