From: Gill-Montague Regional School District, Office of Superintend

Date: August 16, 2018

Topic: School Committee Looks to Fill Vacancy

School committee member Shawn Hubert resigned his position in July. On Tuesday, August 14, the committee voted to begin the process of seeking a one-year replacement. By policy, the vacancy will be filled only until the next committee elections in May 2019, at which time this Gill seat will be open to all candidates to fill the remaining one year of the three-year term (2017-2020).

Mr. Hubert held one of the 3 Gill citizen seats on the 9 member committee. The other 6 seats must be held by Montague citizens.

So, the district is now accepting letters of interest from any Gill resident who wishes to join the committee until May 2019. Letters of interest should be sent to the superintendent’s office by 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 18. The school committee will consider all applicants and select the new member by majority vote on Tuesday, September 25.

Any questions should be directed to Superintendent, Michael Sullivan at michael.sullivan@gmrsd.org or 413.863.9324
