Fire Alarm System Upgrade

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:

Phase #1- New Fire Alarm panel and annunciators:

  • Installation of the new fire alarm panel in place of the existing panel with EST4 fire alarm panel or comparable device.

  • Panel is to be equipped with an Internet interface, provide the capability to support the existing zones and notification circuits plus have the capacity and capability for future upgrades including voice evacuation.

  • The batteries shall be sized to support the system for 24 hours of standby followed by 5 minutes of alarm.

  • Two new annunciator panels with LCD displays.

    • One shall be located just inside the vestibule in the main lobby of the elementary school
    • One located in the Administration building at the side entrance near the parking lot.

  • Installation and wiring of these annunciators back to the new fire alarm panel.

  • System programming and testing.

  • 30 minutes of customer operation instruction/ training.

  • Installation Notes: Electrical Metallic Tubing shall be used around the Auditorium and into the Admin bldg. Once in the Admin building the wiring shall be installed as “open cable” in the cable tray and hung on clips through the storage area but piped through the wall to the new annunciator location. Please advise if the cable tray cannot be used or if it is preferred to have the fire alarm wiring in pipe in all exposed areas.

  •

Phase #2 Elementary School Device Replacement:

  • Installation of new addressable manual pull stations and smoke and heat detectors in place of the existing non-addressable devices in the Elementary school. These will be a one-for-one replacement. For example, if there currently is a heat detector it shall be replaced with a heat detector.

  • *Note- Installer needs to determine if smoke detectors are more feasible in lieu of heat detectors in the Auditorium or Gym

  • Installation of 5 new pull stations in locations that are required to have one but currently do not.

  • System programming and testing.

Phase #3 Admin Building Existing Device Replacement :

  • With the assumption that the wiring from the Administration building interfaces to the school via the connecting corridor, this would be the cost to replace the existing pull stations and heat detectors and allow the notification devices in the Admin building to operate independently from the school.

  • Scope does not include any additional initiating or notification devices to bring the building up to code.

  • Existing fire alarm wiring into the Admin building via the corridor will be used for this installation
