Hillcrest Updates

  • We had a great time welcoming next year’s kindergarten students at our Kindergarten Open House.  A special thank you goes out to the many community members who joined us – Friends of Hillcrest, MCSM, The Community Health Center of Franklin County, and the Carnegie Public Library.

  • Monday, April 8th is the date of the upcoming Solar Eclipse.  In our area, the eclipse will begin around 2:30 and continue until approximately 3:35.  This will impact our student dismissal.  The school district is purchasing eclipse glasses for all students and we will provide students with guidance regarding safe viewing. There will be a communication from Superintendent Beck with specific details about the eclipse.

  • Elementary Science Night will be held at Gill Elementary School on May 17th.  There is very limited parking at Gill; therefore, we are offering transportation on a school bus. In order to know how many busses we will need, families will need to sign-up by Friday, April 12th. Pick-up and drop-off locations include Food City in Turners Falls, Sheffield Elementary School, Millers Falls Center, Montague Center, and Rutter's Park in Lake Pleasant. Parents or caregivers must ride the bus with their student(s).  If you would like to ride the bus, please sign up here. 

  • A letter regarding the district’s updated Covid-19 protocols was sent home in student backpacks today.  You can also read that leter here. 

 

REPEAT ITEMS

  • A group of Great Falls Middle School 8th Graders is organizing a Clothing Drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons. The GFMS group is called Project 351 and they are looking for gently used clothing in sizes infant through adult medium.  We will have a drop-off box here at Hillcrest from March 25th - April 4th.  

 

Friends of Hillcrest

  • The next Friends of Hillcrest meeting will be held at Hillcrest on Thursday, April 4th at 5:30. All are welcome!

  • Please mark your calendars for the FoH Spring Festival, scheduled for Sunday, May 19th from 11:00 - 2:00.
