Hillcrest Updates

  • The 100th Day of School will be Tuesday, February 6th.  Each classroom will celebrate this day with some fun math activities.  Veronica Hirst, our math intervention teacher, will also send home a tip sheet of great 100th Day activites to enjoy at home.  

  • Due to School Vacation Week, we will gather for our February All School Meeting on Friday, February 16th.  The following classes will present their learning: Ms. Olivia’s preschoolers, Ms. Drake’s kindergarten students, and Ms. Thompson’s first graders. 

  • I am happy to announce that we have a new preschool teacher joining the Hillcrest community!  Ms. Holly Charette will become the teacher in our three year-old classroom, beginning next Wednesday, February 7th.  Ms. Holly has just completed her master’s degree at Fitchburg State University and most recently taught kindergarten in the Greenfield Public Schools. 

Repeat Items

  • With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, this is a friendly reminder that Hillcrest students should not bring in candy or other edible treats to school in honor of this holiday.  Classroom teachers will  soon send home details about sharing Valentine cards with classmates. 

  • Be sure to mark your family’s calendar for GMRSD Math Night!  Check out this flier for details about Math Night on March 21st.  

Friends of Hillcrest

  • The next Friends of Hillcrest meeting will take place on Thursday, March 7th at 5:30.

  • Please mark your calendars for the FoH Spring Festival, scheduled for Sunday, May 19th from 11:00 - 2:00. 

Community News

  • Don’t forget that tomorrow is Take Your Child to the Library Day!  Head on over to the Carnegie Library from 10 - 1 to enjoy the library, shop at the used book sale, or join  the Valentine Card Making event. 

  • The Montague Libraries have some fun School Vacation Week Activities planned from February 20th - February 24th.

Novedades de Hillcrest

 

  • El Día 100 de clases será el martes 6 de Febrero.  Cada aula celebrará este día con algunas actividades divertidas de Matemáticas.  Verónica Hirst, nuestra maestra de intervención de matemáticas, también enviará a casa una hoja de consejos de grandes actividades del Día 100 para disfrutar en casa.  

  • Debido a la Semana de Vacaciones Escolares, nos reuniremos para nuestra Reunión Escolar de Febrero el Viernes, 16 de Febrero.  Las siguientes clases presentarán su aprendizaje: Los preescolares de la Sra. Olivia, los estudiantes de kindergarten de la Sra. Drake, y los estudiantes de primer grado de la Sra. Thompson. 

  • ¡Me complace anunciar que tenemos una nueva maestra de preescolar que se une a la comunidad Hillcrest!  La Sra. Holly Charette se convertirá en la maestra de nuestra aula de tres años, a partir del próximo Miércoles, 7 de Febrero.  La Sra. Holly acaba de terminar su maestría en la Universidad Estatal de Fitchburg y más recientemente enseñó jardín de infantes en las Escuelas Públicas de Greenfield.

Temas repetidos

  • Con el Día de San Valentín a la vuelta de la esquina, este es un recordatorio amistoso de que los estudiantes de Hillcrest no deben traer dulces u otras golosinas comestibles a la escuela para celebrar este día festivo.  Los profesores pronto enviarán a casa detalles sobre cómo compartir tarjetas de San Valentín con los compañeros de clase.

Los Amigos de Hillcrest

  • La próxima reunión de Friends of Hillcrest tendrá lugar el Jueves 7 de Marzo a las 5:30.

  • Por favor, marquen sus calendarios para el Festival de Primavera FoH, programado para el domingo, 19 de Mayo de 11:00 - 2:00

 

Noticias de la Comunidad

  • ¡No olvides que mañana es el Día de llevar a tu hijo a la biblioteca. 

Vayan a la Biblioteca Carnegie de 10 a 1 para disfrutar de la biblioteca, comprar en la venta de libros usados, o participar en el evento de tarjetas de San Valentín. 

  • Las Bibliotecas Montague tienen planeadas algunas actividades divertidas para la Semana de Vacaciones Escolares del 20 al 24 de Febrero.
