Principal Newsletter 5/20

  • There is a fifth grade step up celebration being planned for a date in June.  This event will be for fifth grade students and their family only.  Past years this was a whole school celebration.  More details will be forthcoming.

  • The final meeting of FOS was held last night, and I truly appreciate all that this parent/teacher group has done this school year for both our students/families as well as our staff!  If you were unable to get involved this year, please consider offering some time to this very dedicated group next fall.

  • In normal times we would be having field day and field trips in the spring.  In preparation, students make a self portrait and we take each student’s artwork and create a class picture that we then print on t-shirts.  We unfortunately will not be having field day or field trips, but we are moving ahead with making t-shirts.  These are being paid for by both the fundraising efforts of our FOS as well as school funds.

  • Tomorrow’s spirit day is ‘Stuffed Animal Day.’  The one stuffed animal needs to be small enough to fit in a shoe box and needs to not distract from learning.  This is an ‘if you want to, not a half to.’

  • Please support us by talking with your child about not playing ‘truth or dare’ on the playground.  This is not a safe game, nor appropriate for school.  Thank you in advance for your support.

  • Thursday, May 27 is our final day of MCAS.  Students in grades 3-5 will take Math, which is expected to take approximately 90 minutes.

  • A friendly reminder that May 31st school will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.
