The school counseling program\u2019s shared mission is to deliver a comprehensive program to all <\/strong>students that promotes lifelong learning and active citizenship for grades six through twelve. In partnership with the school and greater community, we provide a safe and supportive environment for students to discover their interests, pursue their goals, succeed academically, explore postsecondary options, and develop and improve their interpersonal and workplace readiness skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Empowering all<\/strong> students to be college and career ready.<\/p>\n\n\n\n To receive a TFHS diploma, all students must meet the competency determination (CD) for coursework and local graduation requirements. To meet the competency determination required by state law, students must take and pass the following courses with a 60 to show proficiency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n Though MCAS are no loner a graduation requirement, they are still administered and an important aspect of the full high school experience. The test helps identify students’ strengths and weaknesses, allowing teachers, parents, and students to see how they are performing against grade-level expectations and to understand progress.\u00a0High MCAS scores can indicate college readiness and lead to significant academic awards, such as the John and Abigail Adams Scholarship for free tuition at MA public colleges and universities.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Military Recruiter Opt out Form<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Section 9528 of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 requires schools to release students\u2019 contact information to military recruiters, upon request. As parents\/guardians, you have the opportunity to \u201copt out\u201d of this requirement by completing the following form and returning it to the Guidance Department.
