Whether they choose to enter the workforce, go to a community college, or attend a four-year university, we walk them through the process every step of the way. Starting with his or&nbsp;her first day of high school until graduation day, our guidance staff works tirelessly to ensure that every child meets or exceeds his or her potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>School Counseling Mission Statement: Great Falls Middle School and Turners Falls High School<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The school counseling program\u2019s shared mission is to deliver a comprehensive program to&nbsp;<strong>all&nbsp;<\/strong>students that promotes lifelong learning and active citizenship for grades six through twelve. To meet the competency determination required by state law, students must take and pass the following courses with a 60 to show proficiency:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>English 9 or Integrated ELA<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>English 10<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Algebra I or Algebra II, Foundations of Mathematics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Geometry or Integrated Math<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two of the following courses:\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Biology or Integrated Science<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Physics<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chemistry<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Though MCAS are no loner a graduation requirement, they are still administered and an important aspect of the full high school experience. As parents\/guardians, you have the opportunity to \u201copt out\u201d of this requirement by completing the following form and returning it to the Guidance Department.
