WELCOME BACK TEAM SHEFFIELD!

The first week of school flew by! Sheffield students been very busy learning each other’s names, making rules for their classrooms, and learning daily routines. Thanks to everyone that dressed up in their "TEAM" attire to celebrate the first day of school. TEAM - Together Everyone Achieves More!

ARRIVAL, PARKING, AND PICK UP

Arrival

Cones will be placed to allow for single file drop off. Please pull forward as much as possible and make sure that your child is prepared to immediately exit the vehicle on the right side (closest to the sidewalk). If your child is not ready, please pull into a designated parking space and when ready, walk your child to the sidewalk.

Parking

All visitors must park in the side parking lot. There are three handicapped spaces available that should only be used by vehicles with handicapped parking permits. Please observe the posted parking signs in front of the school. The area in front of the school is a fire lane. There is no parking in between these posted signs.

End of day pick up

Please park in the parking spaces and walk to the sidewalks to pick up your child from their teacher in the afternoon.

Safety is always our top priority and we appreciate your assistance!

SCHOOL COUNCIL

The role of the Sheffield Elementary School Council is to identify and prioritize the needs of the Sheffield Elementary School community and to advise the Principal in the development and implementation of the Sheffield Elementary School Improvement Plan. The Sheffield School Council meets monthly from October to May. These meetings are open to the public.

A sign up sheet was sent home on the first day of school. If you are interested in being a part of this team, please return the form with your child or email me at kerry.heathwaite@gmrsd.org.

FRIENDS OF SHEFFIELD

The staff of Sheffield Elementary School send a huge thanks to the FOS! Thank you for creating our TEAMWORK bulletin board and for providing us with apples during our first days.

We need your help!

Now that the new school year is here, we are trying to reach out and find new members to join the FOS community. We had a welcome letter go home to families/guardians with a survey asking about availability. If you are interested in joining our meetings, please take the survey (https://forms.gle/qnWzPp1fyDrDGCkW6) to share your availability to help us decide our new meeting date. Last year we held our meetings on Wednesdays, but found it was conflicting with a few of the half days and possibly some staff meetings (We are now looking at M, T & TH). Also if you are unable to attend meetings, but are still interested in receiving emails with our agenda/minutes, please note it in the comment section of the survey. Thanks so much!
