Principal Newsletter 2/18/22

  • School will be closed February 21-25 for vacation.  We will reopen on Monday, February 28th. 

  • The current mask mandate for all students and staff wearing a mask in school will continue though the first week back and maybe longer.  The superintendent will send information to families when this protocol changes.

  • Wednesday, March 2nd is Read Across America Day in celebration and honor of Dr. Seuss.  Our librarian will be celebrating all week with activities and stories.  We are having a special spirit day Wednesday even though it is a full day of school.  Dress as your favorite book character!  This as all spirit days are optional.

  • Today is the final day to purchase Sheffield swag!   You may click the link now to visit the store and make your purchase there.

  • Calling all girls in grades 3-5! The Girls on the Run spring season is about to begin and we hope you'll join us! 

Girls on the Run is an after school program like no other. Twice per week, for ten weeks, girls will have fun, make friends, increase their physical activity levels and learn important life skills. Trained and caring coaches will lead the team through interactive lessons and movement activities. The season ends with a celebratory 5K event!

Practices will be held at Sheffield on Tuesdays and Thursdays, beginning March 22, from 3:30-5:00.

  • MCAS dates have been picked!! ELA for all students grades 3, 4,5 will be April 13 and April 14.  Math for all students in grades 3,4,5 will be May 11 and May 12.  Science for grade 5 will be May 24 and May 25.  Please avoid vacations during our state testing dates.  

  • Friendly reminder to families who opted into home COVID testing kits, they are going home with your child today.
