Principal Newsletter September 5, 2019

  • Friends of Sheffield (Sheffield's version of PTO) will have their first meeting at Sheffield in the teacher's lounge on 9/18/19 at 5:30.  We are asking that if someone needs childcare they let us know via email (friendsofsheffield@gmail.com) or phone (413.676.9006) by 9/11/19.   Our 2nd meeting will be at Riff's North restaurant in TF on 10/16/19 at 5:30. Childcare will not be provided for off-site meetings.

  • If you are a parent, guardian, or helpful grandparent, and you are using our side driveway to drop your child off, please remember to pull up as far as you can to the end cone before stopping.  This allows more cars to come up behind you and helps speed the process along. Thank you for your assistance.

  • Wednesday, September 11 is our first half day with a noon dismissal.

  • We have a daily walking school bus that picks students up at 2nd Street Bakery at 8:00 to walk up to Sheffield.  There are two adults who walk daily-even in the rain and snow. We are always looking for parent volunteers to assist with this. Please contact Christine Limoges at 863-7421 if interested.

  • Thursday, September 12 is school picture day!!  An order form is going home today for families interested in purchasing pictures.  Each student will have their picture taken, even if an order form does not come back, for the class picture and id cards.

  • It has been great to see fifth grade students playing basketball with the younger students!  Mr. Wood has been teaching the rules of gaga ball, so this game will be available for all to play at recess soon.  There are a few kinks to still work out, but I’m hearing a lot of positives from our students.
