Principal newsletter January 31

  • A heartfelt thank you to Mrs. Cogswell and Ms. Schiowitz for assisting with student council elections.  We have one returning member and eight new members to our spring student council.

  • Thank you to Mr. Wonsey for assisting in taking down all or the beautiful artwork that lined our halls for the Winter Concert and Art Show.

  • There’s a lot of sickness going around.  Please encourage your family to drink plenty of liquids, wash hands routinely with soap and water, and get plenty of rest.

  • We have had a few delays recently.  Just a friendly reminder that students can be dropped off at 10:10 for our 10:30 start time.  Delays and cancellation are announced on TV channels 22 and 40, radio stations WRSI 95.3 FM, WHAI 98.3 AM and our website www.gmrsd.org

  • February 6 is a half day with a noon dismissal.  The theme will be “SUNSATIONAL SUNGLASSES &/OR CRAZY SOCKS DAY”!  Students and staff are invited to wear SUNGLASSES…rain or shine...and/or CRAZY SOCKS!!  Please remind students that this is an "if you want to"...not a "have-to". Sunglasses/socks must be appropriate and in accordance with our school-wide guidelines.  Teachers and specialists may ask students to remove the sunglasses temporarily during the morning if/when wearing them might interfere with instruction or the safety of an activity.

  • Thursday, February 7 is an All School Sing in our auditorium starting at 9:00.  Families are welcome to attend.

  • Thursday, February 7 is our Math night from 5:30-7:00.  A free dinner complements of Stone Soup Cafe will be served from 5:30-6:00 with a brief presentation followed by fun math activities.

With Sheffield Pride,
