AVAILABILITY OF IN-DISTRICT SCHOOL CHOICE AND SES SERVICES FOR ELIGIBLE SHEFFIELD ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Because MCAS scores were not deemed adequate on certain tests in 2007 and 2008 at the Sheffield Elementary School, income eligible students in that school qualify for Supplemental Education Services. This is only true for students in the Sheffield Elementary School because of the percentage of students in that school that qualify for Title I funds. For more information, please call 413-863-3252.

For approved SES providers, go to the Department of Education’s “Find a Provider” page: http://www.doe.mass.edu/ses/search.asp

The Gill-Montague Regional School District is an approved SES provider and provides SES services at the Sheffield Elementary School as part of its 21st Century Learning Center after school program. This program is available to all Sheffield students throughout the school year free of charge.

In 2008, the number of Shefield students eligible for Supplemental Educational Services was 101.  As it turned out, 53 students participated in the program which is designed to improve students' academic performance.
