Choose Our District

Selecting the right school for your child is a big decision, and we know you want to choose a learning environment offering the best opportunities available to your child. We think you’ll be very happy with the educational experiences you’ll find at Gill-Montague Regional School District. Please allow us to share some of the reasons why our district is the best choice for your child’s future.

About Our District

The Gill-Montague Regional School District is a preschool-12th grade district situated along the Connecticut River in the Upper Pioneer Valley of western Massachusetts in Franklin County, serving the children in the town of Gill and the five villages that comprise the town Montague. Secondary students from the Town of Erving attend the district's middle and high schools.

The district benefits from the educational influences of the Five College Area (Amherst College, Hampshire College, University of Mass Amherst, Smith College, and Mt. Holyoke College). With an aggregate population of 12,120, the district is a distance of 11 miles from Amherst, 30 miles from Springfield, and 87 miles from Boston. The district is near Interstate 91 and Route 2 at the gateway to the Mohawk Trail.

Dedicated to Your Child’s Success

We care about each student in our district and are dedicated to providing an education that allows all of our students to succeed. Our highly qualified teachers work with students in a small class setting that allows them to personalize their teaching strategies. We also offer a full range of support services and program offerings that enhance student learning.

Opportunities for Learning

We proudly offer a challenging academic curriculum supplemented with a variety of extracurricular programs and services that enhance the student learning experience. Students have the opportunity to participate in activities such as athletics and fine arts (including art, band, music, and chorus), as well as programs such as Tools of the Mind and Developmental Design. Our goal is to prepare students to meet future challenges and enjoy successful college and career experiences.
