Dear Hillcrest Families,
I am so eager to begin the 2020-2021 school year! While we know this year will be very different from any other school year, I can still feel that powerful Back to School energy around here! Some of us may feel excited, others may be nervous, and still others might be feeling exhausted or relaxed. Whatever you are feeling, it’s okay! Go ahead and recognize those feelings and please let your child know that all of their feelings are important and valuable. We are all in this together and we will make progress together!
Here are several pieces of important information for you:

The first day of classes for our First Graders is Monday, September 14th. Your child should be ready for school and logged into their Google Classroom at 8:30 on Monday morning. The first grade teachers have sent an email to each first grade family with the key details you need to get started. If you have not received an email, please reach out to the first grade teachers at lsaylor@gmrsd.org, krista.matrishon@gmrsd.org or kristy.smith@gmrsd.org.

Our Kindergarten and Preschool students will have Orientation Meetings beginning on Monday, September 14th. Each family has an individually scheduled meeting with their child’s teacher. If you have any questions about those meetings, please reach out to the teachers via email.

Material Pick-Up for Preschool Students is scheduled for Thursday, September 17th from 9:00 to 11:00. You will receive more information about that in an email from your child’s preschool teacher.

Materials Pick-Up for Kindergarten Students is also scheduled for Thursday, September 17th. For Kindergarten, this will take place from 9:00 to 3:00. You will receive more information about that in an email from your child’s teacher.

Materials Pick-Up for First Grade Students will be scheduled soon. We are still waiting for additional orders of learning supplies to arrive.
