Dear Hillcrest Families,

Happy Friday to all of you! In this very strange time of staying at home, it seems that we often need reminders about the days of the week.  We could probably all benefit from the sweet morning routine of the Days of the Week songs that we enjoy in our preschool and kindergarten classrooms each day! The days do seem to blend together these days and with the arrival of warmer weather, it’s tempting to treat each one like the weekend.  However, teaching and learning are in full bloom for our Hillcrest students!  Although our school building is closed, we are still focused on providing plenty of engaging learning experiences for every Hillcrest student from now until the last day of school on June 12th.  Please keep supporting your children in accessing their Google Classrooms regularly and please continue to check your email for messages from your children’s teachers.  In order to offer additional support during this time, our teachers are currently packing up their student’s learning materials such as Fundations (phonics) and Bridges (math) workbooks, along with other supplies, to be distributed to you over the next week or two.  Please be on the lookout for email from your children’s teachers about specific dates and times for picking these materials up at school.

We will use a Drive-Up format for materials distribution and we will also use this format for Preschool Registration.  We are planning two Drive-Up Preschool Registration sessions on Wednesday, May 13th and Wednesday, May 20th from 1:00 - 2:00. Families who are interested in enrolling in preschool may pick-up and drop-off registration packets and supporting documents at these times. Registration for preschool is also available through email at registration.prek@gmrsd.org or via U.S. Mail. Registration forms can be found on the district website www.gmrsd.org. These sessions are intended for NEW preschoolers. Our currently enrolled preschoolers do not need to complete a new registration packet for the upcoming school year. Please spread the word about Preschool Registration to your neighbors, family and friends.  We look forward to welcoming new preschoolers to Hillcrest in the fall!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend --
