Friday News

March 18,  2022

Dear Hillcrest Families,

It was such a pleasure to see so many family members at Conferences this week!  Due to Covid, we’ve had limited opportunities to connect with families in-person and that has made conference time particularly special.  Thank you very much for finding the time to attend conferences.

A few important news items:

  • On Monday, March 21st we will shift to a Mask Optional model across our school district.  Here at Hillcrest, we have shared this news with all of our students and each classroom has discussed the important points of the Mask Optional model.  Please be sure to review the  Masks at Hillcrest slideshow with your child.

  • If you have signed up to receive at-home Covid test kits, please be sure to check your child’s backpack today.

  • We’d like to extend a bit THANK YOU to Friends of Hillcrest and all the Hillcrest community members who contributed snacks and beverages for our teachers to enjoy during parent conferences.  We all appreciate your generosity!

  • Friends of Hillcrest is currently planning a fun family event – a Spring Festival here at school on Saturday, April 30th.  If you’d like to help out with this event, please check out the  FOH Spring Festival Volunteer Sign-Up form.  You may also want to attend the upcoming Friends of Hillcrest Meeting on Wednesday, March 30th at 5:00.

  • We have two upcoming events focused on connecting with new Hillcrest students and families.  On Friday, March 25th, we will have Preschool Classroom Visits & Registration from 12:30 - 2:30.  And on Wednesday, April 6th, we will have Kindergarten Information NIght & Registration from 5:30 - 6:30.  For more information, please call our main office at 413-863-9526.

REPEAT ITEM

  • The Project 351 Ambassadors at Great Falls Middle School will be conducting a clothing drive from March 28th - April 8th.  They will be collecting new and gently used clothing in sizes Infant to Youth Large. If you would like to donate to this project, you may drop off clothing in a collection box here at Hillcrest beginning March 28th.  Here are some additional details:

    • Project 351 is a Service Leadership organization that brings together one 8th grade ambassador from each town/city in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to participate in a year of service.  Currently, our district's 3 Ambassadors (representing Montague, Gill and Erving) are organizing a Spring Service clothing drive to benefit Cradles to Crayons https://www.cradlestocrayons.org/what-we-do/

Wishing you a wonderful weekend –

Sarah Burstein
