Hillcrest Elementary School

Friday News

March 15, 2019

Dear Hillcrest Families,

It’s been great to see so many Hillcrest families here at school for Parent-Teacher Conferences this week! Thank you for making the time in your schedules to come to school to learn more about your student’s progress.

A few important notes:

  • Student report cards will be mailed home on Monday, March 18th.  You will notice that there is no grade noted for Library classes this term.  This is because Ms. Nadeau has been on leave and her role has been covered by two substitute teachers during the second trimester.  There will be a Library grade on your student’s third term report card.

  • Now that “mud season” is upon us, please be sure to send in a set of extra clothing for your student to keep at school.  There are many days when our students’ recess adventures result in wet clothing. Having spare clothing on hand, especially extra pants and socks, makes a big difference!

  • We will hold our Kindergarten Open House for NEW kindergarten students on Thursday, March 21st.  If you have a soon-to-be kindergarten student (five years old before September 1st), please come to Open House!

  • Please join us for March All School Meeting next Friday, March 22nd. We will enjoy presentations from Ms. Chase’s preschoolers, Mrs. Fox’s kindergarten students, and Mrs. Saylor’s first graders.

  • Looking ahead, please mark your calendars with these important dates:

    • Thursday, March 21st -- Open House for NEW Kindergarten Students & Families

    • Friday, March 22nd -- March All School Meeting

    • Thursday, March 28th - Kindergarten Registration

    • Wednesday, April 6th --  Early Release Day

Wishing you a wonderful weekend --

Sarah Burstein
