Grades - Progress Reports - Reports Cards

Our academic expectations for you are high.  Halfway through the marking period progress reports will be sent home to indicate areas where you need to improve. You may also get progress reports in areas where you are doing exceptionally well.

At the end of each quarter you will receive a report card.  Our grades are:

A = excellent...outstanding work
B = very good work...above average
C = average work
D = poor work...barely passing
F = failure

Your report card will also include teachers' comments about your behavior and effort.

Determination of Honor Roll

The following procedures will apply in the determination of the quarterly honor roll:

  1. The honor roll shall be based on a simple Grade Point Average (G.P.A.)
  2. A student who earns at least a 3.0 G.P.A., or B average, with no grade below a C, shall be eligible to be on the honor roll.
  3. Honor roll computation shall be based on the procedure listed below:
    1. The following grade point conversion table for numeric equivalents will be used:
      Grade Numeric Equivalent Grade Numeric Equivalent
      A 4.0 C- 1.7
      A- 3.7 D+ 1.3
      B+ 3.3 D 1.0
      B 3.0 D- 0.7
      B- 2.7 F 0.0
      C+ 2.3 I 0.0
      C 2.0  Cut-off W 0.0

    2. For purposes of the quarterly honor roll, all courses will have a weight of 1.0.
    3. All grades except P (Pass) and W (Withdrawal) will be included in the computation.
    4. The simple G.P.A. is arrived at by adding the numeric equivalents and dividing by the number of grades.  The honor roll will be:

First Honors 3.7 - 4.0
Second Honors 3.4 - 3.699
Third Honors 3.0 - 3.399
