Gill Elementary School Closure Resources

Hello from Gill Elementary School, 

During this difficult and unprecedented time, we are committed to staying in touch with you and your children, and to supporting them in their growth. We realize that having schools closed places a burden on you, our families, and our goal is to support your efforts at home. Please know that we miss you all. We miss seeing smiling faces in the hallway; we miss hearing the buzz of learning in the classrooms, and the laughter on the playground at recess. We look forward to seeing you all, and wish you health, peace, and calm during this tumultuous time in the interim. 

Teachers have, and will continue to, communicate with families primarily via email. They will share resources and ideas for learning, and let you know of upcoming virtual events or opportunities. In the interest of ease of use, this page will operate as a warehouse for those links and resources. Teachers will update their resource lists periodically, and may link to things like Google Classroom. Please know that this is not a replacement for email communication. Rather, it is a way for those resources to be centrally located and accessed so as to not require extensive searching through email. 

As we all adjust to this new paradigm, please be patient. Many of the efforts being made are new to us. In an ideal world, we would learn before we do. However as the past couple of weeks have shown, this situation is far from ideal. We are adapting and asking our teachers and learning community to adapt with us. We are learning as we do. 

Together, we will continue to support our students in the best way we can. As always, please contact your child’s teacher or me if you have questions or concerns.
