  Health Services:

When Your Child Isn't Feeling Well: Please be sure that you have provided us with telephone numbers on the emergency card so we will be able to reach you, a family member, or neighbor quickly upon determining your child is
not well enough to remain at school.

Medication Policy: From time to time, your child may need to take medicine at school. For temporary disbursement of medicine, parents need to do the following:

  1. Bring medicine in its original, pharmacy labeled container - no plastic bags. Needs to be brought to school by a parent or responsible adult.
  2. A signed note by parent indicating dosage and time to administer

For children who need medication on a daily basis, parents must complete the following:

  • A signed consent by parent or legal guardian - school form
  • A written medication order signed by your child's physician - school form
  • Parent or responsible adult needs to bring medication to school in original pharmacy labeled container

Medication is not given on half days unless arrangements have been made to do so.

Head lice: As a general school procedure, all children are checked periodically for head lice. Should a case of head lice be discovered, parents are notified immediately and are asked to pick up their child for treatment. All nits must be removed before a child can re-enter.
A letter notifying the parents of the children in the affected classroom is sent home.

Other conditions requiring immediate action: Contagious conditions such as "pink eye," chicken pox, scabies, and impetigo do require that a child be sent home. The child may return to school when evidence is presented that the condition has been treated and it is no longer a contagious condition.
