Head Lice (Pediculosis)
As a general
school procedure, all children are checked within the first few
weeks of school for head lice. Should a case of head lice
be discovered, parents are notified immediately and are asked
to pick up their child for treatment. All nits must
be removed before a child can reenter.
A letter notifying
the parents of the children in the affected classroom is sent
home.

Other Conditions Requiring Immediate Action:
Contagious conditions
such as "pink eye", scabies and impetigo ado require that a child
be sent home. The child may return to school when evidence
is presented that the condition has been treated and is no longer
contagious.
